Methodology adopted at Varnim

Talent Identification

Not all humans are alike as each one us possesses different talents and capabilities. At VARNIM we first identify that special talent or capability and then design our teaching and training program according to their level of understanding, talents and capabilities of the incumbent. Thus, rather than asking the learners to fit into the rigid, ready-made frames – something that is so mindlessly done all across the country – we pitch our training in consonance with the need of the learner.

Personality Transformation through Intensive Training

We at VARNIM do not believe in armchair lecturing, sermonizing, or preaching. On the contrary, we focus on bringing about a transformation in the personality and performance of learners through rigorous, intensive, and interactive training.

Learner Centric Approach

At VARNIM, the centre of focus is the learner whose individual capacities are always at the forefront of our teaching and training program. At VARNIM therefore, teachers, experts and trainers do not engage the learners for a pompous demonstration of their expertise, but for sharing knowledge and imparting skills with a genuine, earnest urge to bring about a transformation in the learners’ personality, attitude, and performance.

Lab-Oriented Teaching

Since at VARNIM we train students for all the language skills such as Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW), additional practice is provided in the language lab to reinforce the classroom learning if required.

Knowledge and Experience Sharing

We at VARNIM believe that each one of us is unique in way or the other. Therefore, all of us can also teach others while we learn from them. So, we encourage all our students for an open knowledge and experience sharing with their co-learners.

Scaffolding Creativity

At VARNIM we provide multiple opportunities for our students to express themselves creatively and innovatively. Therefore, several sports, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are conducted to help them overcome their inhibitions, develop group learning, and shape themselves as confident, communicative, and creative human beings

Fostering Critical Thinking

The hallmark of an educated and mature individual is his/her ability to think objectively and act rationally. In order to foster this in our students, we at VARNIM create opportunities for critically appraising situations and events. Therefore, students at VARNIM frequently participate in brainstorming sessions, group discussions, speeches, debates, and presentations on various issues of seminal importance.

Industrial Exposure and Internship

An integral part of our training program is an effective industrial exposure and internship. It is so because we at VARNIM firmly believe that without proper linkages between industry and academia, no professional training can be imparted. Therefore, all the students at VARNIM are required to undergo an internship program of 3 months (depending on the course module opted) in an industry, company, or business organization. This industrial exposure is further reinforced with another 2 month (depending on the course module opted) job-specific training before the conclusion of their training program.
