VARNIM - making a sincere effort to helping the youth gain Employability
Having looked into the poor employability statistics, it is apparent that what ails modern academic system is the wide gap that separates the theories of the academia from the practicality of the business world. Deprived of an exposure into the complex nature of the business besides being deprived of the requisite skills to enter, survive, and excel in a professional world, several thousands of our young boys and girls are forced into joining the growing population of unemployable youth all over the globe.
The statistics further testify such surmises: India has the lowest proportion of trained youth in the world. Not just in India, a forecast suggests a likely shortfall of global skilled labour by approximately 56.5 million by 2020.
India is bigger market and economy than China which creates bottom level jobs more. Therefore, India needs more skilled people to match the market requirements for higher growth of economy.
The urban and rural record indicates disparity in skills. Comparatively speaking, rural India gives a dismal picture with a huge chunk of unskilled, though degree-holding , youths flocking to cities and attempting unsuccessfully to gain a foothold into the demanding and skill driven world of the corporate.
It is so because most of our rural town aspirants do not have access to the same resources and educational opportunities which cause inability to compete for employability with their urban counterparts. Though lack of quality education, training and exposure is the story of a large of students studying across the country, those studying in rural areas are the most affected ones and thus are often left behind.
